There is light lumpiness and faint stains along the front cover's top edge where it has been wet (the moisture did not affect the pages), and there is a speck-sized black spot on the top outer edge. The tip of the top corner on the front cover iand first blank page is chipped (very small). There is a slight bend at the top corner on the pages at the front (the book may have been stored standing upside down and at a slight angle). No writing or underlinig. The binding is strong. The interior is in nice condition so I doubt the book has handled much, despite the shelf-wear described. This is the large catalog for the auction of renowned designer Bill Blass' collection of antiques, art, sculpture porcelain, silver, and more, that was held October 21-23, 2003. 805 items are featured, ranging from paintings to sculpture to furniture to books to antiques. 474 pages.
