About This Item
Sydney: Australasian Book Society, 1965. Hardcover. 207p., original red cloth boards, corners mildly bumped, dj mildly edgeworn with minor spine sun-fading and chipping on head and tail, touch of foxing on text block edges, else in very good condition. Signed and inscribed by the author. First volume of a planned trilogy: 'The streets of a city," and "The towers of Babylon" though we can find no evidence that either volume was published. "In drought and hunger Red Danvers develops his own beliefs and politics. When eventually he is forced off the farm, he goes to the city and, first as a student, and later as a soldier, takes his place as a serious worker in the Labor movement," (dustjacket panel).
