Henry W. Clune (February 8, 1890 – October 9, 1995 was an American writer. A well-known journalist for the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper in Rochester, New York, his column "Seen and Heard" was published in that paper for 55 years. He also penned 14 books; including six novels.
"The Big Fella" is considered one of the finer novels written about American politics. Unfortunately for Clune the book's publishing was delayed by three months due to an eye condition by his editor. During those three months Edwin O'Connor's Last Hurrah appeared. The Last Hurrah was an award winner and best seller, as well as later a popular movie starring Spencer Tracy.
