About This Item

Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, 1949. This book club edition is in Fine condition with a Very Good+ dust jacket (click on photo). This science fiction classic concerns earth's last days as it's about to collide with another planet, and how individuals as well as nations prepare for the end, regaining their values and humanity in the process. The book is bound in green cloth with red spine titles and top-edge red stain. The binding is tight and pages are clean, bright, and sparkling throughout. The dust jacket has some edge rubbing, tiny tears and light shelf rubbing at spine tips and corners, plus a tiny hole on the spine. I've placed the dust jacket into a Brodart protective sleeve. The book measures 5 3/4 by 8 1/2 inches and includes 221 pages.. Hard Cover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
