About This Item

The Trianon Press, London, first edition, 1964. Limited edition of 500 copies. Original two-toned cloth, large 8vo,. xxiii, 444 pp, 45 collotype plates. 4,313 entries. A splendid catalogue of the collection formed by the bibliographer Geoffrey Keynes, especially strong in the subjects of his bibliographies: Jane Austen, William Blake, Rupert Brooke, Thomas Browne, John Donne, John Evelyn, William Harvey, Wiliam Hazlitt, William Petty, John Ray, Siegfried Sassoon, etc Bent Juel-Jensen, reviewqing the catalogue, acclaimed it as "this splendid catalogue of the most distinguished private English library of today...The book is beautifully printed by the Curwen Press, and lavishly illustrated with forty-five plates done by the Trianon Press. The subjects chosen are delightful, not the obvious, hackneyed 'highspots' which are known to all and sundry, but the unique, the unusual, the amusing. Endpapers somewhat foxed with some spotting also to the margins of the first few pages (up to page 4), otherwise Very Good.
