Texas: The Humanities Research Center - The Unversity of Texas, 1965. Limited ed. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. Black cloth with gilt titles, limited first edition in dustjacket. Limitation page at rear indicating 500 copies. A very good volume with minor bending at the lower corners and a bit of shelfwear to the board edges. Previous owner's bookplate neatly to the top of the front pastedown, otherwise a clean and unmarked copy in a solid binding. Unclipped jacket with $5.00 price stamped in blue ink to the top of the front flap. Some ruffling and chipping along the top edge of the panels, clean and bright paper jacket. 180 pp., indexed, some black & white illustrations and photos. Machen has been recognized as a foundational author of fantasy and horror, influencing some of our best known modern novelists.
