Swiss-born Pinget's first prose work, originally published in France in 1950, and not translated into English until this edition. In the author's new preface, written for this translation, he describes himself as being very much under the influence of the surrealists at that time. Photograph of Pinget on the back cover of the dust jacket is also by Wright, the translator. 83 pp.
