For 4 years the authors were held in a Lebanese dungeon. Their only companions were themselves and a few volumes of an ancient American Encyclopaedia. To take them from their bleak cell, the authors imagine walking the high Andes and the wastes of Patagonia. Five years after their release they set out to find if the reality of the journey matched their imaginations. Little bumping of the lower book corners and softening of the back strip edges. Rubbing of the other book edges with tanning of the text block edges and lighter tanning of the pages. A little creasing of the dustwrapper edges with rubbing of the panels.
