Signed and dated (1993) on the title page by the author, Jane Cox Farmer. She was the daughter of Lexie Birdwell Cox (born 18 February 1892 in Illinois) and Katheryn Alton Maxwell. Lexie was a descendant of Joseph Cox (born ca. 1787 in Virginia) and Cynthia Brockman. Katheryn was a descendant of Samuel Scott Maxwell (born 27 August 1805 in Virginia) and Eliza Lowery. Ancestors of Jane Elizabeth Cox lived in Virginia, Ohio, Kansas, Oklahoma and elsewhere.
