Twelve unpaginated colour plates including one double-page. Fold-out map and print tipped in inside bfep, as published. Gift inscription inked on colophon. Pale grey endpapers. Blue-grey boards w gilt lettering in black title panel on spine. No wear to covers or spine, but spine shows strong sunning. Binding square and sound. Illustrated slipcase is clean and without wear. Facsimile reprint of the original Johann Baptist Strobel edition (1784), in Gothic German text. Includes bibliography and an Epilogue by Gunter Goepfert written for this edition. ISBN 3-7991-05962-2 [sic]. Written by Prof. Lorenz von Westenrieder (1748-1829), in the summer of 1783 , this work recounts a trip around Lake Starnberg (then known as Lake Würm) in Bavaria, and describes the surrounding landscape, the tranquil villages and beautiful castles on the lake, and the culture and living conditions of the people.
