About This Item
Santa Fe, New Mexico: Arena Editions. Fine in Near Fine dust jacket. 2002. First Edition. Hardcover. 1892041634 . Stated first edition. Photographer Eugène Atget took photographs of people and scenes in and around Paris from 1898 to 1927. Much of his work was collected and popularized by Berenice Abbott, herself a noted American photographer who often exhibited with the likes of Man Ray and André Kertész. This work is a collection of Atget's photos, many from previously-unpublished negatives acquired by Ms. Abbott after the death of Atget. The photos provide a glimpse of Paris as it was at the turn of the 20th century. Also with a biographic piece "Abbott & Atget" by Clark Worswick and another "The World of Ataget" by Berenice Abbott. --- In full cream cloth-covered boards with titling in blind to cover and spine. Jacket bears examples of Atget's work on front and back panels. --- An about Fine copy lacking damages worthy of mention. Unpriced, unclipped jacket also in great shape.
