MS: Barre Publishers. Fine with no dust jacket. 1968. First Edition. In case. Color Lithographs; Benton Spruance Moby Dick: The Passion of Ahab, signed edition, one of 50 sets which include a signed original lithograph "The Master of the Pequod" and His red inkstamp 'BS' along with pencil date of 1967 [looks like a 4], folio includes 26 lithographs printed on Rives heavyweight paper and booklet, folio measures 23-1/4" x 17-1/4", prints Fine, booklet in Fine with some minor wear to drop down case, this is the hard to find deluxe edition. Small corner tear to signed plate which appears to have occurred in production. He began work in 1965 on a set of prints that are generally regarded as his most masterful works. These are the twenty six lithographs based on his reading of Moby Dick, themes from which recur often in the prints made during the last two decades of his life. The prints were exhibited for the very first time in 1968. Spruance died in December 1967." courtesy of his website. ; Signed by Author .
