The Bell Ringer of Angel's and Other Stories, Boston: Houghton Mifflin/Riverside Press, 1896. 12mo, early printing (first was in 1894), pp. [viii], 334, red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine, black rule, lettering and floral decoration to front, label on front pastedown identifying this as part of the Estelle Doheny Collection of American Literature. Doheny, wife of the oil baron played by Daniel Day Lewis in "There Will Be Blood," amassed a valuable collection that was dispersed in auctions in the 1980s after she died. Condition of this book Fine, no flaws -- an exceptional copy. Size: 12mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting.
