The text is illustrated at the beginning of each chapter with a small illustration by Geoff Taylor and a map. Dark purple coloured boards with gilt illustration and titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound), by Geoff Taylor, with metallic red and blue coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. This is a story of Belgarath the Sorcerer. The prequel to the authors' first breakout series The Belgariad. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges and rubbing of the other book edges. The book panels show some staining and rubbing. Light tanning of the text block edges and pages. A few stains to the front edge of the free front end page. Creasing of the dustwrapper edges and a little rubbing of the panel. Synopsis
Belgarath the Sorcerer is a book by David Eddings and Leigh Eddings. Set in the same universe as the Eddings' The Belgariad and The Malloreon, it is effectively one big flashback (or a prequel) to the other series, although the framework story is set after the events of The Malloreon. The book opens shortly after the end of The Malloreon with Belgarion, with help from Durnik, pestering Belgarath to write an autobiographical account of the events prior to The Belgariad.
