About This Item

London: Dennis Dobson , 1963. Minor edge and corner wear, no dj, gently scuffed and scratched, corners are lightly bumped and rubbed, some light shelf wear, spine is slightly faded, ex-library with the usual library markings, overall a clean used first edition (stated)! Very very rare and hard-to-find title! Green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. 104 informative and educational pages nicely enhanced by black and white illustrations! Extremely scarce and out-of-print! "In so far as there is any 'secret' of Bel Canto singing, it lies in the conscious control of the voice by means of what, hitherto, was mysteriously called 'a sixth sense'. In recent years the nature of this sense has been explored by research scientists and a name found for it, Kinaesthetic Awareness, (or, in conveniently shortened form, Kinesense). That is to say through the sensations set up by the movement of joints and organs of the voice. This is the primary means of vocal control: control by modifying the tone through the medium of the sense of hearing being only secondary....." ---- from the Preface.. First American Edition. Black Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Ex-Library.
