First published in 1922, the novel is narrated by an adventurer named Felix Krull, the son of a ruined Rhineland winemaker. Mann began planning the novel in 1905, but did not take this form until much later. It was later adapted into a film in 1957, starring Horst Buchholz as Krull.The work of the German Nobel Prize winning novelist Thomas Mann, known for his highly symbolic fiction.With a contemporary inscription, dated 1930, to the front free endpaper. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Bumping to spine head and tail. Back strip lightly age toned, with light handling marks to boards.
