In the original German, printed in blackletter.A bright copy of an early edition of Thomas Mann's unfinished novel. First published in 1922, the novel is narrated by an adventurer named Felix Krull, the son of a ruined Rhineland winemaker.  Mann began planning the novel in 1905, but did not take this form until much later. It was later adapted into a film in 1957, starring Horst Buchholz as Krull.The work of the German Nobel Prize winning novelist Thomas Mann, known for his highly symbolic fiction.With a contemporary inscription, dated 1930, to the front free endpaper. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Bumping to spine head and tail. Back strip lightly age toned, with light handling marks to boards. Contemporary inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
