Bedtime stories intended to be read weekly are printed on the frontside (versos blank) and blue & black illlustrations with artist initial "D". Color illustrated wrappers with silk rope at top for hanging on the wall. Light wear and creasing, else a near fine copy, unusual in this condition. P. F. Volland Company of Chicago published poetry books, greeting cards, music, children's books, calendars, cookbooks, and children's occupational games between 1908 and 1959. The press was noted for using new printing processes, including off-set printing techniques and color illustrations. The P. F. Volland Company is also known for the many significant artists and writers whose work it published, including L. Frank Baum, Thornton W. Burgess, Ruth Campbell, Lewis Carroll, Frank Crane and many more.
