London: Heinemann, 1959. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is clean and fresh. The corners of pages 33/34 and 34/35 have been folded, but this is the only sign of previous use. The blue covers are clean and fresh, with little wear. The gilt spine lettering has dulled, and the top and bottom of the spine have light bumps. The dust jacket is not price-clipped, and is also in Very Good condition, with a number of minor problems, including three shallow chips, two short (under 1 inch) closed tears, darkening of the spine, and some light wear and handling. The attached scan gives a better idea of condition. The dust jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: This novel brings to a close the adventures and tribulations of Victor Crabbe in Malaya, begun in "Time for a Tiger" and continued in "The Enemy in the Blanket". In this book, Victor is acting Chief Education Officer, waiting to hand over the job to his Malay assistant on… Read More
