NY: Dial Press, 1930. First. Hard Bound within a slipcase. Overall VG. However, it has had professional work. Believe they are original boards but new spine with original title applied. Reinforced hinges. Overall tight and square. Tipped in Forrest portrait on ffep./None. But in a matching slipcase.. The author was a British Army officer who wrote other excellent narratives concerning the American Civil War. Sheppard says, "He must, of course, be considered first and foremost as a soldier...but he was also a splendid and admirable man." This bio takes him from birth to death with the meat of the narrative discussing his Civil War activities. One of the four or five must have Forrest biographies.
All five plates and six sketch maps that are required are present.
