London: Henry G. Bohn, 1846. 395 pages. Rebound. Red cloth boards with gold lettering on the spine. Very little scuffing to boards, minor wear to extremities. Marbleized endpapers. A couple minor spots of faded stains on the bottom of the textblock. Stamp and signature from previous owner on blank preliminary page. Moderate toning to the pages, which are very clean. Complete with 24 lithographic plates. One signature (M2) is loose, but has been reattached to the binding; remains delicate. This is one of the works Alexander Walker, a Scottish physiologist amongst many other things, was famous for; it combined physiology and aesthetics. . Second Edition Revised and Corrected. Hardcover. Very Good/No Dj as Issued. Illus. by Howard, Henry. Large Octavo.
