Charles H Banes. Philadelphia, 1893 Book size about 5 1/2 by 8 inches with some 304 pages. Bound in pale blue cloth illustrated with dog heads surrounded with gilt vines--tan cloth spine with gilt lettering and illustration. Stated 'Holiday Edition' on the title page. Tissue guarded frontis of the author and begging dog plus 11 tissue guarded plates. No date except for the copyright date of 1893. A very early printing of this classic dog story. Small tear at spine top; corners bumped; spine darkened; previous owner sticker at front; hinge cracked inside near front. GOOD. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket.
