The Beauties of Nature and Art Displayed in a tour through the world 1764 First Edition Volume XIVComes in a beautiful antique box, which has always protected this delicate volume.This is volume 14 IN ORIGINAL binding in fair+ good minus condition, the leather appearing hardboards has rubbing all around the corners. Has a bookplate from a 1914 sale inside. This is one of the most fun volumes. its all about animals and plants. (the entire set covered both nature and art. The first page is about rattlesnakes, which were unknown to the European world. Very interesting article on Tobacco. California, as its flora and fauna was known in 1760s is presented on page 79.The book fits in the palm of a (large) hand. 198 pages, followed by the index for all 14 volumes.
