Complete with 12 plates, as called. INSCRIBED "To W. D. Vincent / As you go afield on my / trail through these pages, take / with you the Indian greeting, / Tanamakoon ! / Wm J Long / Stamford, Conn. / 1925". Includes the bookplate of W. D. Vincent. William D. Vincent (1866-1935) was a collector of books and bookplates, an amateur historian, with focus on the Pacific NW. From Spokane, Washington, he was President of the Old National Bank of Spokane 1920-1933. ALSO INCLUDES TWO LETTERS FROM THE AUTHOR, tipped-in. Letter 1: Is on the Author's letterhead and is handwritten, dated 11 November 1925, mentioning he would be glad to sign the book. Letter 2: Also on the Author's letterhead and handwritten, dated 24 November 1925, mentions the meaning of the Inscribed Indian Greeting. Book shows sunned spine, upper front corner bumped.
