London: Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1911 xii, 419pp, bound in maroon cloth with gilt illustration on the front cover, top edges gilt, binding and hinges tight. With two hundred and four engravings on wood. Covers show bumped corners, with light rubbing, interior shows light foxing, mostly on the preliminary pages and fore-edge. From the personal collection of Dr. Brooks Ryder (1918-1995), graduate of Harvard College, Harvard School of Public Health, and Tufts Medical School. Known for his Public Health expertise overseas, throughout East Africa and Indonesia.
