About This Item

Due to a small collections of stains on the cover, this edition from the DBC is being offered at a small discount. The Detective Book Club produced volumes of three crime novels from 1942 to 1999. Originally monthly, near the end they dwindled down to just a few per year. Many famous detective and crime novelists had their early works featured in DBC editions. Often, books were published in DBC editions before, or at the same time as they were published in mass market form. A little about our authors:

Mignon G. Eberhart: American writer of mysteries, suspense and romance, Eberhart had one series, featuring sleuth Sarah Keate, with a total of seven books published between 1929 and 1954. She also wrote 53 non-series novels, the last published in 1988, when she was 89 years old. Eberhart died in 1996.

Michael Kirk: Pen name of Bill Knox Knox wrote under his own name and three pen names. He wrote two detective series under his own name, the Thane and Moss series (25 books) and the Webb Carrick series (15). There were three other series which he published under the name of Robert MacLeod, totaling another 22 books. He also wrote 12 stand alone novels. Knox died in 1999. This is the third of five Andrew Laird mystery, somethime credited to another of Knox's pen names, Robert MacLeod.

William H Hallahan: American writer of fiction and nonfiction. His nine works of fiction are classed as thrillers. Hallahan also wrote two historical nonfiction books. Hallahan died in 2018.
