About This Item
Battles at Home, by Mary G Darling. Boston: Horace B Fuller. 1870 - First Edition. 329 pages, plus 6 pages ads "Popular Books"
Publisher's Note: "Battles at Home has been the leading story in Merry's Museum during the year. Originally selected and commended by Miss Alcott, author of Little Women, it has proved to be the most popular young folks' serial of the season." Considered to be the first in the original "American Girl" series. Charming!
Condition: This original hardcover first edition from 1870 is a real beauty, especially for its age. Binding is sound, pages are unmarked, unstamped, and we found no writing within. It does have fresh end pages which blend with text block. Gilt on front and spine is still good. We carefully photograph our items so that you can review details of condition. After your review of the photos, please ask any questions or request additional photos from us so that you can make the best buying decision.
