London: Williams Innys ; Osborn and Longman; G. Strahan. 1728. 1st ed., three parts in one volume, octavo,pp i, viii, 580, title pages with engraved heading vignettes to each of the three parts. Original panel binding with blindstamped decoration and gilt monogram "M.T." to front and rear boards, rebacked with new leather spine by Cottage Bindery of Bath with gilt title label, blindstamped decoration, raised bands. Small inscription front endpaper. Previous owner, 'M.T.' (most likely Mary Trenchard, 1670-1740). Very good condition. Onslow Burrish was a British Envoy to the Low Countries and Germany and then Minister to Bavaria 1745-58. Chapters include 'Dutch Fisheries', 'Of the Rite and Progress of the Dutch East India Company', Dutch West India Company and Dutch trade and alliances with various other countries. Includes detailed information on the VOC [Dutch East-India Company], the Portuguese, Spanish and the Spice Trade. 1st Edition. Leather.
