New York New York - Waldorf Astoria, 23-Dec-07. Light ribbon wear; else fine.. A 2" x 4 1/2" x 1 1/4" silk covered press board box with The 102nd Annual Festival of the New England Society of the City of New York, December 23, 1907, Waldorf Astoria in woven silk on box side. Affixed to the top with a ribbon tie is a scrolled piece of paper. When opened the scroll reveals a somewhat detailed map of New England. No contents in the box. The New England Society in the City of New York (NES) is one of the oldest social and charitable organizations in the United States, and was founded in 1805 to promote "friendship, charity and mutual assistance" among and on behalf of New Englanders living in New York.
