The first edition of this interesting history of censorship laws in England by Alec Craig, in the unclipped dust wrapper. Alec Craig explores the history of English laws regarding the censorship and the banning of books with this account of works by various authors that were banned as obscene in the country. With a look on the law of obscene libel, the sexual impulse case, a general history, and the injustice of the law and its reform. A chapter compares the English and American law on the issue. With a foreword by E. M. Forster. In the original, unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. The dust wrapper is unclipped and very smart with only minor shelf wear and casual chipping, as well as some sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
