Volume I covers the story of modern civil aviation in Papua New Guinea from the end of the Second World War to 1960, the year in which Qantas left PNG. A second volume (Volume II) continues the account to 1976, with its central theme the story of Talair and its rise to the position of one of the largest third-level operators in the world.
