Edinburgh: William Paterson, 1867. Red cloth with gilt lettering on the spine, and blindstamped decorated border to front and rear boards.xviii, 433 pages, engraved frontispiece. 5.5 X 7.75 inches. The book has been rebacked with the original back strip laid on, and the endpapers have also been replaced. A good copy, corners bumped with some wear to the cloth, spotting to the first few pages. There is some annotation here and there in the book and some of the index pages are coming loose. inscribed to William Armstrong "with the author's grateful regards 13 January 1868" (not signed).. Inscribed by the Author. First Edition.
