London: A. Fullarton & Co, 1856. Second Edition. Hardcover. Fair. Some truly arresting black-and-engravings throughout both volumes, including at frontis, many/most being tissue-guarded. Volume I and II of a two-volume set, and a stated Second Edition, with title pages to First Edition bound in, preceding. Gift inscription from 1858 at first free endpaper, a bit of cracking to front and rear paste-downs, but still sturdily bound, in publisher's original green cloth, blind-stamped designs at blocked borders, gilt stamped design in front panel middle of a lyre, a banner and a castle. Moderate wear to covers, rubbing to spine, bumped head and foot, rubbed gilt lettering, with moderate foxing to ranges else clean and unmarked of interior. 356 pp. to Volume I and Volume II is 419 Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
