The first edition, first impression.In the original price-clipped dust wrapper.An early work by Muriel Spark, an intriguing novel following the devilish Scot Dougal Douglas, who moves to Peckham and wreaks havoc on the lives of those around him.This novel was followed soon after with the publication of Spark's best known work, 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie'. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Fading and light spots to the extremities, and minor fading to the spine, heavier to the head and tail. Small tape marks to the paste downs. Bookseller's label to the front paste down. Dust wrapper is a little edge worn, with a couple of small chips. Tape to the flyleaves. Spots to the wraps, heavier to the reverse, with a small dampstain to the tail of the front wrap to the reverse, and to the head of the rear flyleaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good
