About This Item
Paris: Panoramas Forces Vives. First Edition. Hardcover. As New/Fine. Oblong 4to 11" - 13" tall. Enrico Baj. A superior set of two copies in square quarto hardcover format, with unbruised tips, tight bindings, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Catalogue raisonne of Baj's graphic work, Volume I being published in 1970, Volume II in 1973. Volume I is bound handsomely in bright orange cloth, with one of Baj's magnificent cuttings reproduced in black and with black letter to spine, over the linen cloth. Ditto to Volume II, but over red linen cloth. Bright and shiny dust jackets, paper-backed, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by plastic coats, not price-clipped. Each dust jacket is a work of art in and of itself, one being in green and pink, the other, in green, pink and black. Gift-quality condition inside and out both volumes. Bilingual edition, texts en Espanol and English. Some really fascinating illustrations to Volume I, a couple hundred of them, including at frontis, with an opaque illustration over the "baj." "Multiples 1965-1970" then follows, with thumb-nailed reproductions, captioned. Bacci de Milan did the photography from objects supplied by Enrico Baj from Walter Mori de Milan. Printed on Arches paper, and the English translations are by Jan van der Marck. Jean Petit contributes an original essay that appears in Volume II, as notes to Volume II, plus an index. Both volumes housed in a simple cardboard slip-case.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
