Collection of South African Bantu legends [retold by the author "so as to appeal to the European reader"]. Besides the title story also includes: "Temba and Seliba: A Stroy of The Sasuto", "The Malambanone Tree: A Story of the Shangaan", "The Lake of Frogs: A Story of the Zulus", "The Laughing Rogue: A Story of the Basuto", and "Vuyani and the Goddess of Rain: A Story of the Zulus".
