At last it is here. The author has gone to great lengths to check the smallest detail and all the badges have been checked against the master records held in HM Naval Base Devonport. The colours are reproduced as accurately as the printing process will allow. Many 'unofficial' badges have existed over the years and are deliberately not included here. Whilst we realise that our readers would want a book of all the badges ever issued to HM Ships we regret that, with some 2,000 being held on record, such a proposition was totally impractical.
