Badger was planning to produce more th an 180 limited edition books documenting the architecture and history of co mmunities in every county in Illinois. Each book contains 35 to 40 of Badge r's drawings of homes, business and public buildings in the community. Buil dings he documents have been chosen for their aesthetic appeal and for their historic significance. Each book also contains a brief narrative about th e buildings. Also included within the books are poetry by Badger.
