New York: Dutton, 1938. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. First edition (stated). Hardcover. 288 pp. Introduction by George M. Cohan. Near fine in very good dust jacket. Biography of late 19th and early 20th century actor, director and theatrical producer Henry Miller (1859-1926). Born in England, he debuted on the stage in Toronto in 1878; around 1884, he came to New York where he became a leading amn in the Lyceum Theater company. As a director an dproducer he was instrumental in helping launch the careers of several early 20th century actors. Broadway's Henry Miller Theater , located at 124 W. 43 Street in New York City, was replaced by a modrn structure in 2009 and is now named for Stephen Sondheim.
