About This Item

New York: Thomas Y. Crowell, 1938. First Edition. From the library of television and film director Delbert Mann with his autograph signature “Delbert M. Mann, Jr.” Illustrated. Very good lightly used copy with some edge wear and a bit of dust soiling to the cloth without dust jacket. An interesting exploration of the ways and means of the actor, both on stage and screen. Delbert Mann (1920 - 2007) was an accomplished director who came from the Golden Age of Television ("Philco Playhouse," "Goodyear Television Playhouse," and "Producers' Showcase") and went on to great success in film, and is perhaps best known for his Oscar-winning direction of the classic film Marty.
