About This Item

London and New York (Printed in Great Britain): Frederick Warne & Co., Ltd. Hardcover. Good/No Dust Jacket. 7 1/2" x 7 1/4. Walter Crane; Edmund Evans, Engraver. GOOD / NO DUST JACKET. Former library book. No publication date but likely c. 1890. 56 pp. Pages are in pristine condition: no marks, no damage, no fading. Both sides of every page have full color engraved illustrations; text of the fables is drawn, not type-set. Olive green and white illustrated endpapers, front and back. Library treatments include card pocket pasted inside front cover, notice pasted on front endpaper, library name rendered in punched holes on table of contents page, along with a small stamp and pencil notations. Title page is clean, untouched. Endpaper at front hinge is cracked, but binding is solid. Boards covered in olive green fabric, with full color illustrations covering front and back covers. Illustrated covers show remarkably little evidence of shelfwear. Bottom edges of both covers are shelfworn but not to boards; one place on top edge of front cover is slightly bumped. Top of spine slightly bumped, spine a bit faded. Overall well preserved.
