Franklin Furnace, New York, 1989 Description: First edition. 8 1/2 x 11 inches (22 x 28 cm). Offset printed. pp. [1], 2-68, [index on inside back cover]. 113 black-and-white illustrations. Good cond.: ext. wear incl. some laminate bubbling/edgewear; letter has tiny tears on right side. Comments: Catalog from a defining exhibit at the legendary alternative arts space. Unlike many later artists' book exhibits, takes an all-encompassing view of book-form exploration beginning with William Blake. Martha Wilson's letter, signed by her, announces the book; her letterhead includes a list of Franklin Furnace's board, committee and advisers (among them Laurie Anderson, Yoko Ono, Dick Higgins, Lucy Lippard, Ed Ruscha, and Barbara Kruger).
