London: Nicholas Kaye, 1959. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. First UK Edition. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Publisher's tan boards with gilt lettering to the spine. Dark pink top edge. Fore-edge foxed which has crept into the text block in places). Bookseller's ticket to the rear paste-down. End-papers foxed. Boards bright and clean. Overall a VG copy signed by the Author to the half-title page: D J Watkins-Pitchford/ ' B B'. The price-clipped dustwrapper is also VG with a touch of wear at the spine tips and foxing to the back panel. Laid in are four copies of original photographs of BB purchased from Bob Butuex (one of the great chub anglers of the 20th century). The photographs show: a) ‘BB’ in his garden at the Roundhouse in Sudborough, Northants with Bob Butuex August 1987; b ) BB’ in his red leather armchair signing books at Home at the Roundhouse August 1987; and c & d) ‘BB’ with Anne Humphries at Lady Wood in August 1988 looking for Purple Emperor Butterfly eggs. Uncommon signed especially with these attributes. Photographs/scans available upon request..
