If you like it, I can send another, of about the same length, in regard to Joseph Sowards, a Union scout who acted for Garfield in his East Kentucky campaign, and whose career had in it many resemblances to that of 'Harry Birch' in Cooper's "Spy". I had the story from Garfield himself.
