Washington, D.C., November 25, 1902., 1902.. Very good. - Over 85 words penned on 10-1/2 inch high by 8 inch wide creamy white paper. In his letter addressed to the Albany, NY bookseller Joseph McDonough, Schubert expresses his "pleasure in mailing to you five copies of my prize winning essay gratis and will be thankful to you if you will please include the title and author in your subsequent catalogues..." Signed "B.F. Schubert". The letter is folded for mailing with a tiny chip at top left. Very good.

The attorney B.F. Schubert was a graduate of Georgetown University. He authored the prize essay "Merits and Demerits of Trial by Jury and How the Last Can Best be Remedied" which was published by Georgetown University's School of Law in 1898.
