New York: Hurst and Company. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. Elaborate gilt lettered and decorated spine, multi-colored illustration of a dancing woman and flowers on the boards. Red lithographed half-title page, top edge gilt, red silk bookmark ribbon. 16mo, 326pp. A note on the title page says: "Reprinted from The Atlantic Monthly, as it appeared from Nov. 1857, to Oct. 1858." A truly handsome book! Page 321/322 creased, corners rubbed, otherwise near fine.
