Also includes entries from Poor Richard's Almanack (1749, 1756 and 1757) as well as numerous other writings; and with a list of the chief events in Mr. Franklin's life. With an introduction by Henry Steele Commager and color illustrations by Thomas Hart Benton. Illustrated Modern Library #039.2. --- In green patterned paper-covered boards with bas-relief, cameo-style oval portrait of Franklin on cover. Spine titling in gilt on black quarter cloth; blue topstain. Volume housed in tan paper-covered slipcase with Benton-illustrated title label pasted to one side. --- An exceptionally well-preserved copy: clean, tightly-bound and unmarked. The slipcase is another story, with soiling and small tears to edges, but structurally sound and protective of the book inside.; 12mo 7" - 7-1/2" tall; xix, 265 pages .
