The vast central desert touches on all mainland states of Australia and comprise the major portion of South Australia, Western Australia and The Northern Territory. Although of enormous extent nowhere do the deserts become totally barren with sufficient rainfall from time to time to support surprisingly large populations of plants and animals if only for a brief time. 79 pages with numerous colour illustrations throughout and endpaaper map. Book in near fine codition and dust jacket in very good condition with two minor tears top spine and some minor wear.
