Very Good Condition/Very Good. 1.323 kg.; 384 pages, this book was originally published as three separate volumes, and in the reproduction, the three volumes are reproduced down to the individual pagination of each book. Each book has an introduction and select bibliography at the end of the section. Dark green coloured endpapers. The text is illustrated with 200 reproductions of Australian artists' works in colour, included is a small section at the beginning on Aboriginal art. Green coloured boards with white titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper, showing three individual paintings on the front panel of Australian artists and the one on the back panel. Blue coloured background with white titles to the front panel and back strip. A history of Australian painting starting from before white settlement up until the 1970s. There is a small potted history of each artist discussed. trifling rubbing of the bottom edges of the boards from contact with shelves, and the dust jacket has 1/2 inch split at the top of the front fold over, foxing to the half title page.
