Lavista was born in 1948 in Mexico City. In 1987, Lavista received a Guggenheim to compose the opera "Aura," based on Carlos Fuentes's short story. The opera was premiered in 1988 in Mexico City. This orchestral work is a "paraphrase" of the opera. . . . polvo seran, mas polvo enamorado.
