London And Edinburgh: T Nelson & Sons Ltd and T. C. & E. C. Jack. Very Good+ in Good dust jacket. (1930s). Presumed First UK Edition. Hardcover. In the Publisher's original green cloth covers, black titling/lettering on front board & spine, black wavy bordering around edges of the front cover. In the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket = White based colour pictorial dustjacket, with dark green lettering, with a green " 2/6 net " and a colour illustration of Augustus John's 'lady cello player Suggia' on the front cover. Not clipped, but a little dusty/grubby (as usual with a white based d/j) and with a couple of closed (neatly repaired to the reverse) tears from age/storage. Possible First Edition. Slim 8vo. NO Date (? 1930s ? ). 78 pp. Plus 6 f/p reproductions in full colour. Light foxing mainly to e/p's and to the very edges of the 'rough-cut' page fore-edges. This contains a biography of the artist and discussion of his work. Untrimmed edges to pages. Overall an Excellent Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy with the d/j now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks near VG. A delightful period copy published when Augustus was in full flow....! ; Masterpieces in Colour Series; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
